It’s Not About The Cars was a 4.5 hour interactive art experience in cars, that took audiences on an immersive journey through memories, fantasies and coming of age experiences. With opportunities to partake in a modern day meditation in one car and in another, confessing to things you do or would like to do in a car alone. There were audio pieces about being in cars in Western Sydney, being a young queer woman cruising through Jordan, a shadow puppetry piece based on an early memory of being in a car and a retelling of a childhood spent in a valiant in the 1990’s.
This piece created an intimate space in cars that enabled audience to share their own stories and connect with each performer in an intimate and very personal way.
This was created for Eat Your Heart Out Liverpool.
